New Years Eve Ride

Breakfast then out onto a familiar and favourite circuit around Crondal, Well and Odiham. Forecast had promised misty conditions but the morning was clear, if a little dull. I love this route. Today I took the longer version via Lower Froyle where there is a steep downhill on a very narrow lane. Speeds above 30mph are easily achieved on this hill though there is always the danger of meeting a car half way down! The long climb out of Lower Froyle is gradual enough not to be too painful, though I always stop for a breather at the top where there is often a good view north towards Basingstoke.
